Digital Sense has formed one of the largest and fastest networks that interconnects data centres in Queensland. The “Data Centre Grid” connects all of the major data centres including Digital Sense, Interactive, Fujitsu, PIPE Networks, IBM/Nextgen, Over-the-Wire, AAPT, Soul, NextDC, Polaris and iSeek (in 2015).

Digital Sense has interconnected all of these facilities to create the largest data centre ecosystem in Australia providing true high availability data centre grid hosting options. These sites are interconnected at speeds of up to 1.6Tbps (160x10GbE links) at ultra-low latency (less than 1ms between all data centres) to enable synchronous replication. Pushing the global limits, through the Data Centre Grid, our customers can live migrate (vMotion) virtual machines for the first time between physical data centres without downtime.

A world class IaaS (infrastructure as a service) cloud has been created across the “Data Centre Grid”, to create Australia’s most geographically protected cloud service that competes with the highest level international offerings on both price, scalability and availability. Delivering the most flexible platform to date, Digital Sense support all operating systems, all hypervisors and offer a unique HaaS (hardware as a service) offering. Our HaaS platform allows customers to just take components from us at any of our data centres such as storage (NetApp, EMC, Fujitsu), servers (Fujitsu, HP, Dell, Oracle), Firewalls (Checkpoint, Fortinet) and interconnect them onto their private backbones securely at layer 2 (this lowers your risk by not having your services on the internet unless you want them to be). All of this can be used at costs that are up to half of that presented by the international cloud providers.
